Praful grew up in an Indian village without electricity and running water. After high school, he came to the US for college where he obtained his B.S. in Chemistry and PhD in Pharmaceutics. He spent over thirty years as a scientist, and an executive in research and development of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Since his retirement in 2007, he has been an entrepreneur and a successful private investor focused mainly on social impact companies. He has invested in over fifty startup companies including Aunt Bertha, Bhakti Chai, P2Bi, PharmaJet, Primatemp, Revolar, TeamSnap and Uncharted Play. Praful invests in companies that blend improving the lives of people, society and financial returns. He is forever grateful to all the people and organizations that helped him achieve his potential beyond imagination; and that is what he wants to do for others. He is a strong believer in good karma and its multiplying effect. His passion is to alleviate poverty of all kind (especially ignorance) and provide richness to lives.
